ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE:

closely with governmental, intergovernmental and nongovernmental
partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration
for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to
governments and migrants.

IOM Ireland provides Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration
Programmes (AVRR) that are open to migrants (asylum seekers (VARRP)
and irregular migrants (iVARRP)) from non-EEA countries, who wish to
return home voluntarily but do not have the means, including the
necessary documentation, to do so. Programme activities additionally
include the following areas of migration management: Resettlement,
Family Reunification and Counter-Trafficking

_CONTEXT:_

The Protect 2 project will build the capacity of service providers who
work with Irish Travellers, Romani, and migrants to identify and
address the needs of victims and potential victims of TiP and
survivors of DSGBV within these communities and provide culturally
sensitive support through cultural competency trainings and the use of
cultural mediators. Cultural mediators will serve as a bridge between
service users and service providers and will serve as advocates and
representatives for vulnerable communities. They will be expected to
work with service users and service providers as well as be present in
courts, Garda interviews, hospitals, and other locations when
expected. They will be expected to sensitively explain written
documents and processes, provide reassurance and support service users
with empathy and confidentiality.

_CORE FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:_

* Support provision of quality services facilitating communication
and understanding between service users and service providers both
face-to-face and online.

* Support service providers in understanding specific challenges in
working with migrant survivors of domestic, sexual, and gender-based
violence (DSGBV) and suspected victims of trafficking.
* Support service providers in understanding the cultural background
of the core beneficiaries with the aim to encourage self-referral and
improve the provision and quality of services.
* Raise awareness about services and supports for migrants and
ethnic minority survivors of DSGBV, victims or suspected victims of
trafficking.
* Provide reassurance to users on the confidentiality, impartiality,
and neutrality of service providers.

* Support the development of the train the trainer toolkit and
model.
* Providing insights, feedback and suggestions to IOM bilaterally
and in group coaching sessions
* Conduct outreach and networking efforts within the local migrant
community to promote the project.
* Support and facilitate cultural competency training with
stakeholders (frontline service providers).
* Provide qualitative and quantitative data on activities to IOM
Ireland and the Department of Justice for the purpose of monitoring
and evaluation and final reporting.

_DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE_

EDUCATION

* Secondary School/ High School education level or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

* At least one year of relevant work experience
* Experience and/or knowledge of the areas of Trafficking in Persons
and DSGBV in Ireland
* Experience in working in both group and one-on-one settings
* Previous experience and/or an interest in working with migrants or
vulnerable populations

* Competency in English is required
* Language competency in any of the following: Arabic, Urdu,
Romanian, French, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Chinese, Romani, or
any other is an advantage.
